Associate Music Director, Jessica Zelenack, joined Milwaukee Children's Choir in the fall of 2016.  A native of Fairfax, Virginia, Zelenack holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Elon University in NC and a Master of Arts in Choral Conducting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. While attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she acted as assistant conductor for IUP choral ensembles, taught private voice and directed the IUP Community Music School Crimson Youth Choirs. As a vocal soloist, she has studied and performed classical bel canto, opera, jazz, and other contemporary styles. She is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, where she also acted as the Zeta Zeta chapter president.  Ms. Zelenack was a founding member, music director and arranger for multiple a cappella and vocal jazz ensembles including Elon University’s Vital Signs and IUP’s Crimson Chords.
 
Ms. Zelenack’s teaching techniques focus on healthy vocalizing, incorporating a variety of repertoire and making fun and meaningful music. As a choir director, she focuses on team building and guides students in developing their performance technique, increasing their knowledge of music skills and fostering a lifelong love of music and singing.  Outside of Milwaukee Children's Choir, Ms. Zelenack teaches general music education and is director of choirs at MacDowell Montessori School of Milwaukee Public Schools.
